Today the kiddos didn't have school, {teacher in service day} so we headed to Disneyland.

We are SO excited that this year Daddy has a pass again. We picked the perfect day to go too.

I FINALLY did it. Tonight after hubby stepped out, {to play Call of Duty with the guys}

I decided it was TIME to cut off that little rat tale in the back.

I put Jacks little booty up on a stool and cut his hair! He did GREAT, just sat there talking to Ella.

I know its not a major change, YET, but we have to ease daddy into the idea that ONE DAY we will be giving Jack -Jack a short little man's do.

Yesterday was my little brother's 27th Birthday! All of us {siblings} and our families, my dad and {step} mom and a few of brother's friends had a bbq, some good laughs, good food, and watched all of the 8 loud little cousins run around and have fun! It was a good night with the family that we LOVE! Happy Birthday Greg! We LOVE you!!!

Happy New year to all of our wonderful friends and family!

This year has been a year of trails and tribulations, a year of the good with the bad, a year of new beginnings and fresh starts, and the biggest journey God has taken our family on, ever!

We are STRONGER, more UNITED, and HAPPY because of EVERYTHING that we have faced within this last year. We have been blessed with friends and family that love us beyond measure, and have showed us in ways we never knew were possible. I am thankful for the way God has worked in my families life, and no matter how HARD any day ever was this year, HE was what kept us going.

We are looking forward to what God has in store for our family in 2012!

On Friday night I got ready for what I thought was going to be dinner out on the town with my bestest of the BEST friends, Jessica and Lucy.

Jess came to pick me up and we headed over to Lucy's to "pick her up!"

Luz asked if I wanted to see the garage that she had "got all ready for the kiddos Christmas party" and I walked right into MY AMAZING SURPRISE BIRTHDAY DINNER, with all of my wonderful mommy friends that were waiting to greet me. I was SHOCKED, and over come with so much emotion. I have really never felt sooo LOVED.

I was EXCITED to see My sissy, Deb (my sissy in law), Honey, Stephanie, Kate, Niki, and of course Lucy and Jess.

Lucy went ALL OUT, like she normally does. She cooked a wonderful dinner, made fabulous deserts, played my FAVORITE music, hung lights, lit candles, had beautiful flower arrangements, and LOVED on me!

I am BLESSED beyond WORDS by these WONDERFUL ladies in my life. They are HERE for me, ALWAYS. Letting me lean on them, giving me advice, and simply just being a FRIEND, when a friend is sometimes ALL we need!

THANK YOU ladies for making my Birthday WONDERFUL! I LOVE YOU LADIES!

Our family is SUPER BLESSED.

During the last couple of weeks, we have felt LOVED in a time that our family REALLY needs it. It's amazing how our family and friends have really rallied around us and been there non stop. I can't express to you enough the unconditional LOVE that my kiddos and I have felt. On really hard days, my phone rings non stop with the friends and family willing and WANTING to help us out in ANY and EVERY way that they can. It's PRETTY AMAZING and such a humbling and blessed feeling. I wouldn't be able to get through these trying weeks with out you ALL and I HOPE and PRAY that you know how much I am touched by ALL OF YOU.

THANK YOU Aunt Joan, Sioban and Alana for coming yesterday to bake and cook with my three little LOVES. They ENJOYED it SO much and are still talking about it today.

I don't think they knew you could make ice cream sandwich's from scratch! ; )

Today was a BIG day in the Newton house. Jack started preschool.

AND he LOVED it!

A GIRLS day with Grandma and Grandpa Mone

This Saturday, Kailee Ella, Lily, and Emma went to Grandma Cyndy's work picnic, with Grandma and Grandpa Mone. And they all had a BLAST! Grandma and Grandpa SOILED them with fun! They did face paint, bounce houses, played in the park, took a pony ride, went on little row boats, climbed the rock wall, and ate lots of yummy treats! They all came home EXHAUSTED and with full tummies.

THEY LOVED their Grandma and Grandpa time!

Today I was BLESSED to be apart of the birth of my ADORABLE new nephew,

Gavin Ambrose Acevedo.

Sissy, {Josy} was a CHAMP. She did wonderful. With just 4 big pushes that little man was out, with the cord wrapped TWICE around his neck. What a STRONG boy.

He weighed in at a tiny {HEALTHY} 6 lbs. 13 oz. and 21 in. long

PROVING that boys aren't always bigger. He weighed less then his big sister, Lily LOU, who is EXCITED to be a BIG SISTER, she already takes that roll VERY SERIOUSLY. Completely looking out for "baby brothers" things. She told mama {my sister} as she left for the hospital last night, that she couldn't take baby brothers "boppy pillow" because it wasn't her's. HAHA!

I'm VERY EXCITED for my sister to experience that crazy BOND that a mother and son have, there's nothing like it.

I'm excited for Danny {the dada/my brother in law} to play ball with his boy, to dress him as his mini me, and to share that special father/son relationship.

THANK YOU Danny & Josy for sharing your VERY SPECIAL day with me. That baby boy was made perfectly for you, and for your family. LOVE on that baby boy every second you can, because we all know how fast they grow. I feel very blessed to have been there today.

Yesterday, Jason and I headed to our friends Halloween party, after his Birthday dinner with our great friends.

It was FUN. We hadn't been to a Halloween party in years, I forgot how fun it is to get dressed up.

COMPASSION...

Do you have it?!

Do you show it?!

The definition of Compassion: is the ability to understand the emotional state of another person or oneself. Often confused with empathy, compassion has the added element of having a desire to alleviate or reduce the suffering of another. Empathy, as most people know, is the ability to put oneself in the other person's place. Although compassion and empathy are two separate things, having compassion for someone can lead to feeling empathy for another person.

The key is to have first compassion for yourself in everything that you are and everything that you do.

I know I am on own worst enemy at times, lacking compassion for myself, my feelings, and my appearance. Being too hard on myself takes away from the compassion that I should have for myself and for the ones I truly LOVE.

I believe, and know, that compassion has to be one of the few things that brings us happiness. True happiness, like the kind that sticks.

I recently read that there are scientiific studies that suggest there are actually physical benefits when practicing compassion. People who have compassion produce 100% more DHEA, which is the hormone that counteracts the aging process, and 23% less cortisol, which is the stress hormone.

But there are other benefits as well, and these are emotional and spiritual. The main benefit is that it helps you to be more happy, and brings others around you to be more happy. If we agree that it is a common aim of each of us to strive to be happy, then compassion is one of the main tools for achieving that happiness. It is therefore of utmost importance that we cultivate compassion in our lives and practice compassion everyday.

Today, my Mommy CO. group meet up at the Irvine Park Railroad and went on a hay ride, a train ride, jumped in a bounce house, and picked out a pumpkin!

Every {single} year since Jason and I have started dating, we continued his families tradition of going to the Cal Poly Pomona Pumpkin Patch. It's our FAVORITE Pumpkin Patch, and it gets BETTER every year!

We enjoyed our {HOT} Sunday morning with our family; playing games, checking out the animals, eating corn, and some pop corn, and picking out the PERFECT pumpkin.

It was was a fun Sunday!

Time Management

Yesterday in Mommy Co. {My "Mom's in Community" group} had a speaker and we talked about Time Management. This was a topic that I {and I'm sure a lot of other mama's out there} have struggled with.

We talked about the importance of quality time with our husbands, and our children, without ANY distractions. We talked about how important it is for us mama's to have our girlfriend time, with NO kiddos and NO husbands, and how studies have shown that women who spend time out of the house with their friends, laughing and enjoying good company, can actually lower your chances of depression. Which is something that I TRULY believe in. My girlfriends are my rocks, that keep me sane, keep me feeling like I'm NOT EVER alone in this crazy life as a mama and wife. We talked about sleep; ours and our children's sleep, and the importance of the kiddos sleep schedule; especially so mama and dada's can have date night at home, how woulda thought??!

We discussed time sowed into our talents, both spiritual and natural gifts. This was good for me, especially since I've been giving some of my time to The Brick Basement {a store where I sell my crafts and recreations.} This helped me realize that it's GOOD to be doing something that I LOVE, and that gives me gratification in gifts that I have been blessed with.

And we also talked about having and maintaining a CLEAN HOME, which can be a VERY HARD task with little ones {3} running around. How we manage to fit ALL OF THESE things into our days without GUILT. I know for me, I CAN'T sit still. I ALWAYS have trouble with thinking that I HAVE TO DO IT ALL. But after talks with my lovely lady friends about this subject, I went home feeling GREAT, knowing that WE DON'T have to DO IT ALL, that it's a CRAZY expection that we put on ourselves as mama's and wife's to have everything perfect. At the end of the day as long as we have devoated time to our children, our husband, AND ourselves and as long as EVERYONE is HAPPY, for the most part ; ) then WE ARE doing our jobs as WONDERFULLY as we can, and that is what god expects of us!

This weekend, my friend Lucy and I threw my sister's Dia De Los Muertos {Day Of The Dead}

baby shower; since she is due on Halloween. It was super fitting, and so my sister.

Lucy and I put our heads together, and our crafting fingers to work, and made some awesome decor.

We couldn't wait for the day to get here and "shower" my sissy with LOVE.

All of Josy's family and friends came out for a yummy dinner, great times, and good company to celebrate the upcoming arrival of my nephew, Gavin Ambrose Acevedo.

Many of you know my {amazing} Dad has been in the hospital for the last few days recovering from surgery to remove 350cc of fluid around the heart.

Good news is that today they are removing the tube from the surgery and Dad can go home tonight!

YAYYYYYY!!!

This makes me happy!

He looks better than he has in a long time!

Today I have also been doing last minute preparations for my sister's baby shower that my WONDERFUL friend, Lucy, and I are throwing!

This was a GREAT weekend!

We watched two of our friends say I DO at their BEAUTIFUL backyard wedding.

It was such a fun night.

Hubby surprised me with an overnight stay in Newport Beach.

It was AMAZING to sleep in and just be together.

We ate greasy food, and walked off the greasy food, we did some shopping and enjoyed our alone time. That was ALL possible because of my LOVELY sister and brother in law, who graciously stayed over night with our three monsters.

I give this weekend two BIG FAT thumbs up!!!

I meant to post this AMAZING Memo Dry Erase Window that I made Wednesday, but it has been a crazy, stressful week.

But I'm suppose to have weeks like that right?! I'm a mama of three, I knew this was going to be in the cards, and that's okay.

Today Jack and I got outta the house and met our friends for a nice morning in the park.

It was GREAT! I have wonderful lady friends, and I'm thankful for that. ALWAYS!

I know, for myself, Monday's are hard and I'm VERY sluggish, especially since it's only the second FULL week that my girls are back into school.

There is NOTHING pretty about waking up at 7, ever. Especially since I tend to stay up late chatting with hubby, going over the millions and millions of ideas I have for The Brick Basement, My sister's shower that I am planning and is a few weeks away, the kiddos agenda, the kiddos sports schedule, and the list goes on.

Like I've said MANY, MANY times. Even though I've been a mama for well over 9 years, waking up early isn't something I LOVE, but I embrass it {with a cup of coffee or 4} because I really have NO other choice.

Staying motivated for a new week can be hard. Especially when you aren't ORGANIZED for what a the new week ahead has in store.

That is why I have become a CHECKLIST, AGENDA making little freak. And nothing is better than being organized; especially with a cute free printable right??!

This morning, I took advantage of the nice cool morning, and the kiddos running around in the backyard and put my happy, spray painting fingers to work;

Remember how I told ya about my new adventure?!

Today I took in a BRAND NEW piece of furniture that I refinished for The Brick Basement, you know; the place that I am currently selling my recreations in. :)

Today, my hubby and Nate {our friend} took the hutch into the store that I have been working on for the last week and a half SOLID, with some help for my hubby.

I'm PRETTY STOKED on this hutch.

I'll be sad to see it go; when it sells.

But nothing makes me more happy than to see something finished just the way I had envisioned it.

Remembering; September 11, 2001

I can't believe it has been 10 years, an entire decade. I will never forget waking up that day and seeing the news on TV. Jason and I laid in bed, frozen; in complete shock and disbelief. I NEVER thought something like this could occur, nor would anyone want to. Though I did not know any of the people, I still grieved for them. For the first time in my life, my heart was broken for thousands of complete strangers. I could not imagine the pain that the family's were to face; of loved ones lost during that horrific day.Two weeks later, I found out that I was pregnant for the very first time.With a country still in mourning, I had mixed emotions about bringing a child into a very uncertain world.
Today; I can be thankful for all the men and women who put their lives on the line everyday, fighting for our countries freedom; protecting us all.
God Bless the souls who were lost; God Bless their families; God Bless ALL of the EMS, Police, FDNY; God Bless our troops for doing everyday of every minute, of every second for our country! God Bless the U S A! ♥

Saturday afternoon project...

Hubby is helping me finish this AWESOME hutch that I scored for $40 on Craigslist.

It's hard to tell right now, but this thing is going to be A M A Z I N G when i'm all finished.

I SCORED again for this thing and found some beautiful ceramic anthropology nobs on Ebay for $12 including shipping.

Hubby got this painting "vintage ceiling tiles" Wallpaper from Lowes that we applied to the back of the shelving.

This thing is going to be HARD for me to sell.

I REALLY {almost} wanna keep it...

We got through our first week back to school without a glitch!

It's FRIDAY.

EXCITING.

Jack and I met our friends today at My Giggle Place.

He WON a coloring contest there and went home with a shirt.

The KID LOVES to COLOR, and did I ever tell you that he's LEFT HANDED?!

That means that this kiddo is a GENIUS.

His coloring skills are pretty incredible, especially for a two year old.

Tomorrow morning is Kailee's FIRST soccer game of the Season, on the Brea Breakers!

And it's also opening day, and Soccer pictures.

Tomorrow night, hubby and I, are having DATE NIGHT!

YAY!

These CUTIES just started a new school year yesterday! Mommy, Daddy, and Jack walked them into their new classes with huge smiles on their faces, and on ours too! I dunno about Jack, I'm not too sure that he gets the idea of school just yet! ;)

Kailee is now a big 4th grader. She has a GREAT teacher, and she's so EXCITED to be back in school

with her friends.

Ella is now a big Kindergartner and we can hardly believe it! Where in the world did the time go??!

She LOVES her teacher and so does Mommy!

We are very excited for what this school year has in store for our girls.

We're ready to watch them grow and help them along the way.

I know that most of you, that read my blog regularly, know that my two friends {Sam & Celeste} and I are currently selling our crafts, goodies, and repurposed furniture at the CUTEST store ever, called The Brick Basement in Downtown Fullerton for one week today. Things have been going really well, and all three of us ladies couldn't be more EXCITED.

Last week when we opened our spot up, I brought in two big old 1950's windows that I sanded, painted and made into chalkboards. So shabby chic, which I LOVE, and they sold right away.

So last night I made two more, and brought those down today...

Today I had the idea of making this plate with my chalkboard paint. I think it turned out so cute...

And this is what I currently am in the process of working on at the moment.

I was SO excited to find this.

I am SO excited to give this thing new life.

I KNOW it's going to be on my mind tonight as I toss and turn in my bed...

BUT i HAVE to get my booty in BED...I have TWO girls that start a BRAND NEW school year bright and early tomorrow morning.

Wednesday marks the first day of the 2011-2012 school year for Kailee and Ella.

I'm EXCITED to see what's ahead for this school year, to see how well these two smart, talented, amazing, young girls will learn, and how much they will grow.

My excitement isn't the only thing I am aware of, I am aware of the stress about a new school year and how much I need to do and help these girls to stay on track, to get both of their homework and projects done, and stay on our schedule. And while I'm not alone in feeling that way, I did find a great article to help..

Sorry for my lack of posting for "Flashblack Friday!"

{ ** I know you were all waiting for it! ;) ** }

I had a rough day yesterday. It happens. The kiddos were fighting, I was on my last nerve, I think they are getting sick of me, sick of each other, and they are READY to start school. And I'm ready too. 3 months of summer break is a little too long. I like the school year and our "schedule" our family operates better that way. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my kiddos, and I LOVE summer but I'm done, and I'm BEYOND ready for fall, and for what the next season of our life has to offer. I know I am NOT ALONE in that, I KNOW that there are other mama's out there that feel the SAME. Sometimes knowing THAT, can keep me sain. That's part of the reason I blog, and read other mama's blogs. It's like FREE therapy. Who doesn't love something FREE! ; )

So off to Dland I went, with just the three little people in my life.

They had fun, I had fun, we laughed, we went on rides, we ate good food, we had good treats, and we all went home happy, and all in a much better mood.

I guess it's not just Disneyland's slogan, It is the HAPPIEST place on earth!

Last week, I shared with you all MY NEXT ADVENTURE, that I was/am BEYOND EXCITED about!

Yesterday was THE BIG DAY, I loaded up my car with all my goodies; that I have been painting, sanding, glazing, sweating to death outside in this HEAT creating, all in the hopes that someone will LOVE, and treasure these things as much as I do.

It was a CRAZY, HAPPY, INTENSE moment for me, driving all by myself with a car full to unload into a store, that my two friends and I will SELL our things in. I can't even begin to tell you giddy I felt. It's funny, I know, but if you knew how much of my life, well most of life, has been devoted to my children, since the tender age of 18 when I became pregnant for the first time, then you would understand my excitement, at the age of 28, to be doing something for me. Finding myself through all of this creativity, that seeps out of my pours and makes my head spin at night, causing insomnia, is a really rewarding experience.

I'm so thankful to all of my family and friends who have encouraged and supported me to do this. And to my friend Samantha, who had the idea and asked me to join in with her and Celeste to do this, I can't thank you enough.

This makes me HAPPY!

This last weekend we got to visit with some of our FAVS.

My sissy, Josalynne {aka: Sissy pants, Jos, Josy, Jos the Boss} came over with my

CUTE niece Lily Lou, and her hubbs, Danny!

We ALWAYS enjoy our time with them.

The kiddos had fun and played together very well, like they usually do!

Daddy {My Hubbs} was a genius and got the kiddos Glow Sticks. Josy and I had a glow stick party with them outside in the backyard right as the fun was going down. They LOVED it!

Ashley and Nate {our BFF's} stopped by, with there 3 girls, for a few hours since they were out here visiting family. It's ALWAYS nice to have our time with them as well. Of course Ash and Josy chatted it up about pregnancy since they are BOTH preggers. {CUTE!}

For Josy this is number two, and it's a boy this time around. YAY!

For Ash this is number 4, and she's not sure of the babies sex until FRIDAY! : )

It was a GREAT Saturday spent with the ones we LOVE!

What does a summer day look like for us:

8am: All three kiddos are awake.

{Yes, they have been blessing me with an 8am wake up call. And I'll gladly take that any day over 7am. there is something about 7am that makes me feel icky.}

Daddy is also up, getting ready to head to work.

Kailee is making Mam's coffee {so CUTE!}, and I'm getting the kiddos breakfast.

8:30am: is usually when were kissing Daddy goodbye.

9am: I'm usually getting all the kiddos dressed, hair done and ready for our day.

Then I get my butt in gear, and get myself ready.

10am: We are usually almost EVERYDAY meeting friends for a play date, a day in the water, a trip to the park, or our favorite indoor play area, Disneyland or somewhere Fun.

12pm: no matter where we are is usually LUNCH!

2pm: {if were home} is usually Jack's nap time.

That is when I get stuff done, and hang with my girls.

5pm: is usually when I'm walking out the door for the gym while Daddy is arriving home.

6:30pm: Dinner! I would like to say that we cook, but this summer we haven't cooked too much unless it's a Thurs night when we have all our friends over for "family night"

7:30pm: we are usually outside, or watching a movie with the kiddos, or having a dance party with the kiddos. laughing, having a good time.

8pm: is usually bath time and Pj's

8:30PM Kiddos are usually in BED!

Then for the rest of the night it's mama and daddy time!

Our day's are full, our family is HAPPY and LOVED!

I couldn't ask for much more!

The Ultrasound was awesome. Gavin was all over the place, rubbing his eyes, putting his hand in his mouth, and yawning a lot! {Too CUTE!}

A girls day, at Disneyland.

Yesterday, we met our cousins; Siobhan and Alana, at Disneyland for a fun filled all GIRLS day.

We had such a NICE day together. Kailee brought her friend, Rebekah, who couldn't sleep because she was SO excited to go. {How CUTE!}

Siobhan and Alana are Disneyland pro's, they know all the good places to eat, the short cuts around Disneyland, and the shorter lines. {SCORE!}

As soon as we walked into California Adventures we headed for the NEW Little Mermaid ride. It was SOO cute!!! All of the detail that went into that ride is incredible! That ride is definitively a MUST.

Siobhan took Kailee and Rebekah on Tower of Terror and California Screamin, so Alana and I walked over to the Bug's Life area and rode all those rides with Ella.

After a few hours over there, at California Adventures we headed over to Disneyland, and let the FUN continue.

We went on the Haunted Mansion, Ella hated it and kept her head in my lap the entire time.

We went on Pirates, that was Ella's first time actually liking the ride and watching it the entire time.

We went on the Carousel, the Tea Cups, and Thunder Mountain.

We watched part of the Fantasmic show, and saw the fireworks.

Then we dragged our tired self's to the tram to head home. It was a FUN day. So glad we made those plans with Siobhan and Alana!!!

Double Date night, at the FAIR!

{Usually} every Thursday night, Jason and I have "date night" {date night is SUPER important to us, we love being able to reconnect. It helps us to survive this CRAZY, beautiful gift called PARENTHOOD and 10 GLORIOUS years of marriage to my BFF. {yep, I'm a LUCKY gal!}

What would be better for date night then an annual trip to the OC Fair, with Luke and Lucy!

We ate GOOD food. {well, Luz and I stuck to the healthier foods, if that's even possible at the fair, corn on the cob and a chicken kabob.}

We people watched, cause that is the place to do it!

We walked through the AWESOME garden, and Lucy was in HEAVEN!

We watched an AWESOME Micheal Jackson impersonator do an "MJ" concert, with back up dancers and all!

We had a GREAT time, went home FULL, and smelling like BBQ smoke!

Yesterday, {Sunday} we headed to downtown Claremont to meet all the family at Walter's for a YUMMY brunch in honor of all the August Birthday's.

It was a WONDERFUL family filled day, and we all had so much fun together!

Grandma Debbie, set up a fun little Tea Party for the girls, while they waited for daddy, who drove ALL THE WAY home to get their suits, so they could swim! What a NICE Daddy!!!

Aunt joan and Uncle Ricky brought Jack his Birthday gift, he was SO HAPPY about this Mr. Potatoe head, that came packed with 4 different potatoe heads inside! Can you say SCORE!!! ;)

Even with a little cold, Jack wasn't going to pass up the chance to be a little fish in the water!

You know how you know a friend loves you and is thinking about you??! When they are at a thrift store, spot a table, think of you, pay for the table, put it on hold with your name and it, call you and tell you to go pick up a piece of furniture that they knew you could make into something PRETTY!

Well this is how I knew my friend Shannon LOVES me! How SWEET is that??!

Ohh my, I just LOVED doing this today during Jack's nap!

Can you believe we drove into Temecula with weather like this?!...

..and ended up having a perfect day like this:

We went to Jason's Aunt and Uncles house for Carissa's Birthday...

and enjoyed their NICE pool.

Kailee loved jumping off the waterfall.

Mommy and Daddy finally agreed to Ella's FREQUENT request for a "bob cut"

like the one that Mommy and Kailee have! And I'm SOO glad we did, Ella looks ADORABLE!

Plus its a bonus that I will actually be able to brush through shorter hair!

Yesterday, my LOVELY friend, Stephanie invited us over in the morning for a delicious breakfast, and some swimming.

The kiddos LOVED swimming with Madeline, Steph's ADORABLE daughter! And I LOVED my time with Steffy! ; )
